Oat, Tahini & Banana Bites
Soft baked oat bites made with banana, tahini, flaxseed and cinnamon.
Oats, banana and flaxseed provide dietary fibre, while tahini adds sesame-derived unsaturated fats. The bites are naturally sweetened with ripe banana and contain no refined sugar.
Method
- 1 Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 2 Mash the bananas in a bowl with a fork until smooth, with no large lumps left.
- 3 Stir in the tahini, flaxseed, cinnamon and vanilla until fully combined into a thick, sticky mixture.
- 4 Add the oats and mix until evenly combined — the mixture should hold together when pressed between your fingers; if it feels too wet, stir in a few extra oats.
- 5 Scoop level tablespoons of the mixture and shape into 10 small rounds between your palms, flattening each slightly, then arrange them on the baking tray with a little space between each.
- 6 Sprinkle with sesame seeds, pressing them lightly so they stick, and bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden at the edges.
- 7 Leave to cool on the tray for a few minutes before serving — they firm up as they cool.
