Servings

Quantities update as you change servings — treat scaled amounts as a guide, not an exact measure.

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ banana
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Optional: ice, 1 scoop protein powder

Method

  1. 1 Add the frozen blueberries, almond butter, chia seeds, almond milk, banana and cinnamon to a blender in that order — liquid near the blades helps everything pull down evenly.
  2. 2 Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth, stopping once to scrape down the sides if the mixture is sticking.
  3. 3 Check the consistency: if it is too thick to pour, add a splash more almond milk and blend again briefly; if using ice or protein powder, add now and blend for a further 15–20 seconds.
  4. 4 Pour immediately — chia seeds keep absorbing liquid, so the smoothie will thicken the longer it sits.
