Blueberry Almond Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie
A quick blender smoothie rich in antioxidants and healthy fats, ready in 5 minutes.
Blueberries are rich in polyphenols that support a diverse gut microbiome, while chia seeds add soluble fibre for digestive comfort.
Ingredients
Quantities update as you change servings — treat scaled amounts as a guide, not an exact measure.
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ banana
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Optional: ice, 1 scoop protein powder
Method
- 1 Add the frozen blueberries, almond butter, chia seeds, almond milk, banana and cinnamon to a blender in that order — liquid near the blades helps everything pull down evenly.
- 2 Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth, stopping once to scrape down the sides if the mixture is sticking.
- 3 Check the consistency: if it is too thick to pour, add a splash more almond milk and blend again briefly; if using ice or protein powder, add now and blend for a further 15–20 seconds.
- 4 Pour immediately — chia seeds keep absorbing liquid, so the smoothie will thicken the longer it sits.
