Warm semolina with mashed banana

Method

  1. 1 Warm the milk in a small saucepan over a low heat until just starting to steam.
  2. 2 Gradually whisk in the semolina in a steady stream, whisking constantly to stop lumps forming.
  3. 3 Cook gently for 5-10 minutes, following the packet directions, keeping the heat low and stirring throughout, until thick and smooth. Add a little extra liquid if it looks too thick.
  4. 4 Mash the banana thoroughly with a fork and stir it through.
  5. 5 Leave to cool slightly and serve warm rather than very hot, as semolina holds heat well.
