What you get
Your metered bill is capped at the average bill for your area however much water you use. Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are named as qualifying medical conditions.
Who qualifies
On a water meter (or an assessed charge where a meter cannot be fitted), a household member receiving a qualifying benefit (Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, income-based JSA/ESA and others), and either a named medical condition causing high water use or three or more children under 19 at home. Apply to your water company each year.
